The Warrior Mindset:

How to Complete Your Missions

Bill FitzPatrick    Discipline yourself. No one is going to hand you anything. You must take what you deserve. If you just read the material, or worse, just skim though the material, you will gain little or nothing. If you follow the instruction, you will achieve mission success. You know our CI: rich and retired in twenty years or less.

I am a Shaolin Master, an old warrior, a senior citizen. I have been where you are now. I have done what I am teaching you to do. I have no interest in arguing with the skeptical or motivating the lazy. If there were an easier way of doing something, in the weekly video updates, I'd tell you. Otherwise, get to work. Whether you use your warrior abilities and become a multi-millionaire or forsake your abilities and slink back to average, is entirely up to you.

Read the stories. Watch the videos and weekly video updates. Take a walk. Think. Read the stories again with a highlighter. Look for quotes that speak to you. Answer the Sandbox questions. Complete your Action Reports. Investigate the web support links. Underline sentences, circle ideas and write in the margins. Use the opposite side blank sheets for your notes. Add your own pages. Make this course YOUR course.

   That's part of the work.

Derek Bok

Next, you should always be reading two books. A-B-A-B. Always Bring A Book. Read one book on your industry specialty and the other book on general business or a business biography. Stay current. Subscribe to the Wall Street Journal or to one of the business magazines: Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Fast Company, Inc., etc.

   That's part of the work.

Next, hang out with serious people. Get with your mentors and industry and community leaders. If your old poor friends don't understand you, your new rich friends will. That's part of the work.

Next, keep refining your specific plans. Get in the battle. Alert and aware, you adapt. Take decisive action. Do not become lulled by early success and the comfort of the status quo. What is working? Do more of it. Who isn't working? Fire them. If you net $1,200 one week, then net $1,600. If you have sixty clients, then have ninety clients. You are a moving target, moving forward.

   That's part of the work.

William James

Next, seek balance. Since average people don't work very hard, a fifty-hour workweek of actually working is all you should need. If you aren't finding time for family and golf and exercise and culture and your spiritual needs, you aren't living successfully now and just having lots more money isn't likely to change that.

   That's part of the success.

Read. Watch. Think. Seek. Ask. Try. Work. Learn. Enjoy. Repeat.

You are a warrior. You don't need luck. You just need to do what you know you are capable of doing.
