Isn't reading the Action Principles® enough? You can read through the Action Principles in a few hours and find them interesting. However, the power of the Action Principles comes from your time investment. Looking at your Action Principle e-mail each morning. Thinking about what you are reading. Comparing who you are to what you are capable of being. Taking the twenty-eight days to form a new habit. If you make the Action Principles part of your twenty minutes of quiet time each day, you will be a changed person. You will have changed for the better. Will the Action Principles® work for everyone? The Action Principles are only words. It is the individual who must supply the work. Anyone who commits to self-improvement and helping others will be rewarded. Are the Action Principles® religious? The Action Principles were not written as religious principles but the general sentiments expressed are certainly representative of and compatible with the teachings of all major organized religions. Do you take credit for writing the Action Principles®? The Action Principles are a combination of ancient wisdom and modern motivational maxims. For most of my fifty plus years, I have been interested in the field of personal development and performance and when I see a good idea I write it down. I would take initial credit for organizing and writing the principles. However, the original ideas are from Buddha and Jesus and Emerson and Aristotle and many others. This website is interactive. You are encouraged to share your ideas with others by writing or editing your own Action Principle. What do the Action Principles® have to do with the martial arts? Initially, I wrote the Action Principles for my martial arts students. It was important for them to realize that the martial arts, especially at the advanced levels (green, brown and black belts) should be about more than learning how to fight. The more important lessons center on honor, respect, loyalty, self-discipline, endurance, compassion, grace under fire and being a person of peace. I don't get it, how will following the Action Principles® help me make money? The Action Principles ask you to do two things: improve yourself and help others. If you regularly think about how you can become a better employer or employee, the odds are good that you will begin to take the actions to make yourself a better employer or employee. Read, surf the net, study the competition, find role models, get involved in industry associations and you'll know the actions to take. Help others, your employees and customers. Listen to them. Treat them with respect. Thank them. Follow-up with them. You will have loyal employees and loyal customers. Isn't most motivational material like the Action Principles® simplistic and of only short-term benefit to most people? Simple is better than complicated. Yes, you have been exposed to most of these ideas before. Now, take action based on what you know. Give the Action Principles twenty-eight days and this short time investment may yield long term benefits. Most people aren't going to do what you can do. Be the exceptional exception. You encourage people to promote the Action Principles®, but I can't see myself handing out books even if I like the book. Is there something else that I can do? If you believe in the positive values expressed in the Action Principles, we need and appreciate your help. You can pass the word by distributing books, hanging posters or telling others about Success.org. Put a banner or button on your website or simply link your site to ours. Donate books or posters to local schools or through social agencies. If you own a store, give copies to your employees, put books on the counter or mail books to your customers. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper about the Action Principles. Students can leave books in classrooms, cafeterias, lounges or anywhere that free literature is made available. Be creative and thank you. Why do I have to spend 28 days studying the Action Principles®? Twenty-eight days helps you form the Action Principles habit. All of the other courses, books and Action Challenges in the Master Success System presume that you are familiar with the principles and accept them as a guide for further study. If you are looking for general advice on making money or motivation or time management, there are many excellent resources to be found elsewhere in bookstores and on the Internet. Patience and self-discipline are two of the Action Principles. |
